The construction team has been hard at work. The precast wall panels have been erected for the pool house. Contractors are installing the main wooden trusses so they can begin the roofing system in the precast building. The main lap pool vessel is completed and there are 2 of 3 concrete placements left in the zero-entry pool. Everything appears to be on schedule, although the rain this spring and summer has been a hindrance to construction activity.
Spring 2024 Update
In late April the perimeter safety fence was installed. Materials will arrive in coming weeks and topsoil removal could begin as early as April 22, weather permitting.
At its regular meeting on December 18, 2023, the Fergus Falls City Council officially named the site "Fergus Falls Aquatic Center." The name of the park remains Roosevelt Park. The selection was made following five options (recommended by the steering committee) that received votes from the public.

At its regular meeting on August 22, 2023, the Fergus Falls City Council awarded the Aquatic Center construction bid to Tradesmen Construction, Inc. of Alexandria. They were the lowest bidder. Their bid of $9,179,086 (including alternates) was over the estimate. However, a change order representing deductions totaling $400,100 was included in the motion, bringing the project back within budget. Tradesmen Construction will develop a timeline this fall.

The project will feature a zero-depth entry pool, water slide, four lane lap swimming pool, changing rooms and showers, lockers, and a concession area. The estimated construction cost of the base bid is $8,278,000. Bid alternates are estimated at $830,000 for a combined construction cost of $9,108,000. $430,000 is budgeted for fixtures, furnishings, and equipment for the concessions area. City staff expect to open bids in July. The local option sales tax, approved in November 2022, will finance the project bond.
The renderings below are conceptual. The pool name, placement of various elements and even the colors of the slides are not yet determined! Stay tuned to the process as these decisions are made.
