Mission
The Fergus Falls Port Authority will facilitate economic and community development by investing in the city's infrastructure as an interim land owner.
History & Powers
The Fergus Falls Port Authority came into existence on January 1, 1986. The Port Authority may carry out powers and duties under sections 469.048 to 469.068 of MN State Statute. In general, port authorities exist to prevent the emergence of blighted and marginal lands through the active promotion, attraction, encouragement, and development of economically sound industry and commerce through governmental action. Minnesota currently has 25 Port Authorities.
