The City of Fergus Falls has been made aware of fraudulent emails targeting individuals involved with Planning Commission cases. These emails falsely claim to be from the City or the Planning Commission and request payment for fees related to Planning Commission activity. Please note:
- The City does NOT request payment for fees via wire transfer
- The Planning Commission does NOT issue invoices
- There are no surprise fees after a case is heard
If you receive a message from the City or Planning Commission that you were not expecting, please call the city directly to verify the veracity of an email. Do not respond or send payment.
If you've already sent money or shared information in response to an unexpected email, please contact your local police department.
Overview
The Fergus Falls Planning Commission is a seven-member board of volunteers appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Commission works closely with city staff and residents during public meetings to review land use and development proposals. Their role includes making recommendations on zoning changes, land use permits, and city code to guide the city’s growth.
Planning Commission Meetings
The Planning Commission meets every 4th Monday of the month at 5:15 PM in City Council Chambers and streamed on Youtube.
