Overview
The Fergus Falls Planning Commission is a seven-member board of volunteers appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The Commission works closely with city staff and residents during public meetings to review land use and development proposals. Their role includes making recommendations on zoning changes, land use permits, and city code to guide the city’s growth.

NOTICE: Public Hearing Canceled
The special Planning Commission meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, July 10 to review a request for an Interim Use Permit at 112 E Lincoln Ave has been canceled due to an error in the published public notice.
An incorrect address was originally submitted to Column, the company who formats the Daily Journal's public notices. A correction was provided immediately and accepted, as evidenced by a proof showing the correct addressing. Unfortunately, the incorrect address was still published in the physical copy of the Daily Journal on June 21.
As a result, the hearing must be re-noticed. The item will be rescheduled for the next regular Planning Commission meeting on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 112 W. Washington Ave., to consider the following request:
I-2025-4: Interim Use Permit to allow for cannabis retail sales at 112 Washington Ave E.
