Elected Officials
The Fergus Falls City Council is a Home Rule Charter city. The council is comprised of the Mayor and 8 Council Members, 2 representing each ward of the city.
The City Council hold regular meetings on the first and third Monday of the month at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers, located at 112 W Washington Avenue. If the date falls on a holiday, the meeting is moved to Tuesday. View the meeting calendar here. All meetings are televised on the local PEG Access channel as well as on the city's YouTube channel.
Additionally the Wednesday prior to the council meetings, there is a Committee of the Whole meeting at 7:00 am in the City Council Chambers. These sessions are designed to begin conversations that will happen on a future council meeting. The council will make recommendations at this meeting as to what items will move to the council to act upon.

Members of the public who would like to speak at a City Council meeting will be recognized during the open forum which is at 5:15 p.m. preceding the regular City Council meeting. Speakers must provide their name and whether or not they are residents of Fergus Falls. They do not need to provide their address or advance notice. Speakers are limited to three minutes to address an issue that is not already on the agenda. The open forum is not televised.
