New for 2026! The Fergus Falls Human Rights Commission (HRC) hopes to recognize individuals, organizations, and businesses whose work reflects the values of the Fergus Falls Human Rights Commission Declaration of Human Rights. The Declaration holds that human rights are the basic standards without which people cannot live in dignity, and that having human rights also means having a responsibility to respect the rights of others. All people are free and equal, entitled to rights and freedoms that are indivisible and inherent to each individual. Nominees will therefore exhibit the values of equality, respect, inclusion, responsibility, and courage. Anyone can submit a nomination for:

  • An individual
  • A business
  • An organization or nonprofit

Nominators are asked to describe the nominee's contributions to the Fergus Falls community, how their work reflects the Declaration's values, a specific project or moment that stands out, and who in the community has been impacted by their work.

Nominations are due by midnight on August 28, 2026. An award program will be planned for Fall 2026.
