September 6, 2024 - With the completion of asphalt for the season, contractors will seed the boulevards. Residents are asked to help keep the new grass watered. Don't mow the grass until it is 5" tall. In early October fertilize and keep watering! Please do not remove the erosion control blankets. They will break down within 6-12 months.
August 30, 2024 - Summit, Linden, and Laurel streets have been paved with asphalt as of Friday, August 30. The contractor will work on completing the topsoil installation, debris clean up, raising castings, and seeding next week contingent on the weather.
August 23, 2024 - Today's report from the contractor brought good news: Linden & Laurel have dried out from all the rain and a roll test today (Friday) indicates they are ready to be paved. Monday, August 26 the contractor will continue working on the topsoil on Laurel and will continue cleaning up all streets. Tuesday or Wednesday crews will shape the two roads and pave on Thursday. Additional updates will be provided as they are available.
August 19, 2024 - This summer's rain continues to make this a slow-moving project. The underground utilities are completed and installed. This week the topsoil will be restored, and the road base is being tested. Once that is dry enough to pass the test, paving will resume. Streets are still passable, and residents can access their properties. Everything but the final layer of asphalt is scheduled to be complete before the snow falls.
June 21, 2024 - The contractor is starting concrete work on Laurel. When that is complete, they will move over to Linden. On Summit, contractors are cutting the road and hauling in gravel. Residents are reminded to put their garbage and recycling cans in their normal spot on the front curb; the contractor will haul those to a central pick-up spot and return them to your yard. If you are following this procedure and your garbage is not being collected, please call Troy - 218-205-0334.
May 28, 2024 - On Linden Ave. the sanitary sewer is in. This week the water main and sewer services will be installed. Residents are connected to temporary water service while this occurs. This week on Laurel crews will begin installing storm water service and working on the soil base beneath the new road.

May 10, 2024 - Water and sewer services will be finished up on Laurel Ave. On Linden, contractors will be setting up temporary water service in preparation for replacing water services. The bituminous surface will be removed and it's possible concrete could also be removed.
May 3, 2024 -The week of May 6-10 contractors will install water and sewer service and the storm sewer system. The storm sewer installation requires the temporary closure of Broadway and Laurel, when weather permits next week. The water main and sanitary sewer main are both in.
April 22-26, 2024 - This week contractors will be installing sanitary sewer. The Broadway intersection will be open for a few weeks.
April 3, 2024 - On April 8, 2024, Joe Riley Construction will begin removing concrete walks, curb & gutter and the bituminous surface. They will also install temporary water on Laurel Street. Download the map. For refuse and recycling pick-up, residents should put their containers in the spots they normally do. The contractor will move them if our refuse trucks can't get to them (and return them after the route).
March 2024 - The project resumes this spring with traffic controls and tree removals on Summit Ave. & Linden Street beginning the week of March 18, 2024.
August 11, 2023 Update -This project has been put on hold until spring 2024 due to lack of available staff on our contractor's crew.
