Monday, November 11 is Veterans Day. City offices are closed in observance. Please note the changes to the refuse and recycling routes: Monday routes will be picked up on Tuesday, Tuesday routes will be picked up on Wednesday. The Fergus Falls Public Library is also closed. The liquor stores are open regular Monday hours (West location 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. and downtown closed on Mondays).

The airport is open to the public and is staffed from 8 am-5 pm Monday through Friday and from 9 am-2 pm on Saturday.   These hours are subject to change during the summer and winter hours.


Location

The Einar Mickelson Field is located on Airport Drive located one mile west of I-94 on Minnesota Highway 210. The mean sea level elevation is 1182 foot. It is located at the 46-17-03 latitude and 96-09-24 coordinates. There is no scheduled air service.

Runways


The primary runway 13-31 is 100 feet by 5,640 feet, covered by an asphalt surface with friction cost. The crosswind runway 17-35 is 75 feet by 3,300 covered by an asphalt surface.

Fuel Service

Fuel service is available including Jet-A and 100LL
A&PIA Maintenance Service and aircraft storage is available.  Fuel is available after hours by calling 218-739-3733

Pilot Requirements

No pilot requirements

  • Must have Remote Pilot Airman Certificate
  • Must be 16 years old
  • Must pass TSA vetting

Aircraft Requirements

Unless exclusively operated in compliance with Section 336 of Public Law 112-95 (Special Rule for Model Aircraft), the aircraft must be registered if over 55 lbs.

 

  • Must be less than 55 lbs
  • Must be registered if over 55 lbs. (online)
  • Must undergo pre-flight check to ensure UAS is in condition for safe operation

Location Requirements

5 miles from airports without prior notification to airport and air traffic control

Class G airspace

Operating Rules

  • Must ALWAYS yield right of way to manned aircraft
  • Must keep the aircraft in visual line of sight UAS must be under 55 lbs.
  • Must follow community based safety guidelines
  • Must notify airport and air traffic control tower before flying within 5 miles of an airport
  • Must keep the aircraft in visual line of sight
  • Must fly under 400 feet
  • Must fly during the day
  • Must fly at or below 100 mph
  • Must yield right of way to manned aircraft
  • Must NOT fly over people
  • Must NOT fly from a moving vehicle
