Mission
The Fergus Falls Port Authority will facilitate economic and community development by investing in the city's infrastructure as an interim land owner.
Vision
To increase the tax base, promote new jobs, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
History & Powers
The Fergus Falls Port Authority came into existence on January 1, 1986. The Port Authority may carry out powers and duties under sections 469.048 to 469.068 of MN State Statute. In general, port authorities exist to prevent the emergence of blighted and marginal lands through the active promotion, attraction, encouragement, and development of economically sound industry and commerce through governmental action. Minnesota currently has 25 Port Authorities.

Port Authority meetings are held as needed in City Council Chambers. The public is encouraged to watch meetings live on Youtube.

Land
The Fergus Falls Port Authority currently owns over 350 acres of land. About 145 of those acres are earmarked for industrial expansion. Almost 179 acres are earmarked for residential growth. There is an active RFP available for review for 29.5 of those acres: Riverfront Redevelopment Site.
