Social Justice Book Club

We will discuss "How the Word is Passed: A Reckoning with The History of Slavery Across America" by Clint Smith.  This is Smith's revealing, contemporary portrait of America as a slave-owning nation. Beginning in his own hometown of New Orleans, Smith leads the reader through an unforgettable tour of monuments and landmarks - those that are honest about the past and those that are not - that offer an intergenerational story of how slavery has been central in shaping our nations collective history, and ourselves.

This event will be hybrid: in person and on Zoom.

Library Book Club meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30pm and the following Tuesday at 2pm. Social Justice Book Club meets the fourth Wednesday on every other month from 6:30-8pm. Exceptions are noted our website.
